St. John's High School was founded in 1854 by Rev.R. Posnett, an Anglican clergyman. When the Church of South India came into being in 1947, the School and Church came under the jurisdiction of the erstwhile Mysore Diocese. Later, the property was transferred to the Church of South India Trust Association. In 1962, the institution was upgraded to a high school and joined the select band of schools taking the Anglo-Indian School Certificate Examination. The School was transferred to the Karnataka Central Diocese in the year 2000. It takes VISION for a school to be born. It takes ENDURANCE for it to live on for 150 years. It takes PERSPECTIVE to set a course for the future
